An interactive writing and expression-centered workshop focusing on working through the body and mind. It will explore body image and emotional responses, aiming to help participants understand and connect with their bodies through creative expression.
Shameneh works with Spoken Stage to help promote spoken word as a medium, conducting workshops and hosting events, helping encourage people to express themselves. Her poetry explores the idea of the body, the self, womanhood, families, and interpersonal relationships.
Mariam is a Pakistani-American writer, performer educator & art director. She studied Design from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture and did her MFA in Theatre and Art Education from Emerson College, Boston. She is the Co-founder of Spoken Stage, an organisation that promotes freedom of expression through art, performance and writing in Pakistan. In 2015 she started Mano Animation Studios with Usman Riaz and Khizer Riaz and recently completed their first feature hand drawn animated film The Glassworker.
