As a therapist and new mom, I had resources and awareness of what my postpartum experience might look like, including the likelihood of postpartum depression due to a family history of PPD and personal history of depression. However, what I experienced went far beyond my expectations: rage, grief, and a near dissolution of my marriage. This session will share my personal journey, raise awareness about different aspects and stages of PPD, and provide community support for any woman who has experienced postpartum mood difficulties.
