A moderated panel focusing on stories from survivors of eating disorders, addiction, suicide, cancer & abuse, their triumphs, their fears, what kept them going and what fills them up inside giving them the drive to walk through this beautiful, mystifying journey we call life.

About The Facilitator

Samia Chundrigar
Samia Chundrigar is a Counsellor & Clinical Supervisor. She has trained with CPPD Counselling School, has a Master Practitioner Diploma in Eating Disorders and Obesity from the National Centre for Eating Disorders (NCFED) in the UK and an NLP Practitioner. She is a partner at CPPD Counselling School, Karachi, Pakistan as well as a tutor She also has a private counselling practice, Nourish, comprising of adult and teenage Pakistani and international clients. She specializes in working with Eating Disorders and Obesity and Developmental Trauma and is regulated by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

Khizzer Alam
Khizzer Alam is a Humanistic-Integrative Trainee Counselor from CPPD Pakistan. He conducts research for psychiatric treatment and facilatates workshops for self development to several demographics including people with mental illness, teens with trauma, therapists and corporates. Deeply passionate about mental health and after overcoming his own substance abuse with heroin, he trained in mental health and wellness professions and began to give back. He has also experienced grief of the loss of his sister to suicide.

Aliya Agha
A corporate lawyer trained in the UK who became a wellness coach, Aliya Agha is the Founder of the 1st Internationally accredited Yoga Academy in Pakistan. She is also a Chevening Scholar, a Cancer Survivor, and a motivational speaker. She has worked with the United Nations agencies, ILO, UNDP, UNICEF and other international organisations (European Commission, USAID, CIDA)

Sidra Rahim
I am Sidra Rahim and have a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from PNEC NUST. I started my career as a university teacher and recently changed my calling to become a mental health counsellor. I am a trainee counsellor at CPPD, Pakistan and working as a playgroup and Animal Empathy Module facilitator at VLC (Veritas Learning Circle). Surviving and thriving through my life struggles has made me believe that everyone possesses the power to overcome and accept their shadow parts. I am on this healing journey and would love to pass on the hope and positive energies to people around me!

Ali Murtaza Lakhani
Ali Murtaza Lakhani, is a qualified addiction therapist, a mental health practitioner and a Licensed Life Coach having wide experience of working with individuals struggling with mental health issues such as drug & alcohol addiction, behavior disorders, trauma and abuse from different cultures / societies and gender identities. Ali also holds an Advance Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counseling mastering skills such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Inner Child Work and PTSD Trauma Work
